REPEALING THE RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT

Having the best and brightest minds working at City Hall goes hand-in-hand with making ourselves martketable to prospective businesses.

Department directors are the ones that drive policy and are on the front line when it comes to creating a busines-friendly environment.

One of the greatest blunders the current City Council has made in the past year is passing an ordinance that requires all future department heads to reside within the city limits.

This ordinance has the potential to act as a deterrent to top-tier candidates and open the city up to lawsuits.

My first action as your Alderman will be to spearhead an effort to repeal the residency requirement for department heads.
